Welcome, and thank you for taking a look at my website! My name is Annette, and I'm a licensed therapist in Washington State. I was born and raised in the Pacific North West, north of Seattle. Since a young age, I knew that I was passionate about mental health and that I wanted to help people with my career. I think of myself as a lifelong learner, and I want to be the best possible therapist that I can be. I've recently started my own private practice called Annette's Mindful Therapy Practice (PLLC). Currently I work with clients online and in-person at the Mountlake Terrace location with Mindful Therapy Group, and online with Talkspace.
I enjoy providing mental health services for a wide variety of clients. In particular, I enjoy working with children and much of my initial training was with kiddos and teens! I love my job, and how I am able to meet and work with so many inspiring individuals. As mentioned, I work with children over the age of 5, teens, pregnant mothers, couples, and clients of all gender identities and sexualities. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally. I use a wide variety of therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT within my sessions, depending on the client's needs and preferences. You can learn more about my approaches to therapy, and the types of interventions that I use with clients on the "About Me" page.
I'm here to support you in achieving your goals! I work from a place of compassion, patience and authenticity. I hope to provide a nurturing safe-space where you can talk openly about your concerns. We’ll work together in the therapeutic process, because I want to meet you where you are at, and adapt the experience to your unique needs in a way that is helpful and worthwhile. I'm looking forward to meeting you, and answering any questions you may have.
A little bit more about me as a person: I'm also passionate about mindfulness, meditation and yoga! During the pandemic, I took some time to work on these passion projects and became a 200 hour certified yoga instructor. At some point I would love to lead a group therapy experience that incorporates yoga. I do my best to live a healthy lifestyle and "practice what I preach" for self-care. For me, this includes going on meditation retreats! In my free time, I enjoy yoga, paddle boarding, playing the harp, reading, and spending time with family and friends - I'm very extroverted and social.
